Two-Stage Seebeck Effect in Charged Colloidal Suspensions

We discuss the peculiarities of Seebeck effect in stabilized electrolytes containing colloidal particles. Its unusual feature is two stage character, with linear increase differential thermopower as function particles concentration n⊙ during first (“initial state”) and dramatic drop it at small second one (“steady state”). show that properties initial state are governed by thermo-diffusion flows mobile ions stabilizing electrolyte medium itself how participate formation electric field bulk suspension. In its turn, we attribute specifics steady thermoelectric massive undergoing slow thermal diffusion break down their electro-neutrality vicinity electrodes.
